Rigorous data-driven approaches inform bSAS’s role in setting the direction, standards and priorities for the prevention and treatment of substance abuse in Baltimore City. Through its commitment to the generation and application of research bSAS:
- Fosters the use of evidence-based practices and best practices among its treatment provider community.
- Defines and utilizes performance benchmarks in evaluating provider performance.
- Provides performance feedback to its providers in quarterly DrugStat meetings.
- Analyzes client substance abuse treatment outcomes across its various modalities.
- Identifies gaps in substance abuse treatment and applies this information in the establishment of substance abuse treatment priorities.
- Nurtures innovation in approaches to Baltimore City’s substance abuse problems through various grant-funded clinical programs and research projects.
bSAS also works in partnership and/or collaboration with other leaders and academic institutions to advance its mission to restore the health of people and communities ravaged by substance abuse.
